A random bestseller block can disrupt a nearly completed purchase. A lid that actually fits the mug can be useful.
Relevant accessories in the cart
Suggest accessories that solve a specific need for the selected product. Explain the relationship and let shoppers proceed without the extra.

Prioritize documented compatibility and use cases. Show fewer suggestions when few are relevant. Alternative main products usually belong earlier in evaluation.
Try the pattern
Task and expected result
- 01
Choose Home mug: suggest only the coaster, with an explanation of why it fits.
- 02
Choose Trail mug: suggest a carrying strap and keep the main product price separate.
- 03
Add only the mug to the test basket: optional accessories must stay excluded.
- 04
Remove an accessory: update subtotal and discount eligibility without removing the mug.
How to investigate value
Measure confirmed, deduplicated outcomes per eligible checkout start. Define paid orders and accepted credit orders separately.
Watch for side effects
Payment errors, duplicate orders, incorrect totals, unclear arrival dates and discount cost. A pay click is only an attempt.
This is a proposed investigation, not a measured result. Choose one hypothesis and define the audience before testing.
